IANN vol.6 Freedom from the Known on the Line

사랑, 쾌락, 유혹, 무/절제, 탐닉, 욕망,… 본능, 관습, 사회, 윤리, 출산,… 남성, 여성, 게이, 레즈비언… 과연 성의 경계 위에서 그 본질에 접근이란 이런 단어들의 조합으로 가능한가?

말은 난무하고 진실은 등을 돌린다. 통념적인 단어의 나열에 취한 말장난은 나와 당신 사이에 존재한 경계와 차이만을 드러낼 뿐이다. 그러나, 여기 『아는 것으로부터의 자유, 그 경계에서』의 10명의 사진작가들 작품 속, 그 경계는 모호하다. 그곳에는 오로지 희생, 경배, 관계, 섹스 및 모든 종류의 쾌락과 고통을 향한 ‘순수한 열망’만이 존재하기 때문이다.

Love, pleasure, seduction, abstinence, indulgence, desire,…instinct, custom, society, ethics, birth,…man, woman, gay, lesbian…is it possible to approach the essence of sex from its boundaries, through the combination of these words?

So many words leave little space for truth. Playing with common words, making a long list of them, only reveals the boundaries and differences between me and you. These lines are blurred, however, in the works of the 10 photographers collected in Freedom from the Known, at the Border. There is only ‘pure desire’ towards sacrifice, worship, relationships, sex, and all kinds of pleasure and pain.
